London Removal Moving the capital's houses

Privacy policy

What we collect, why we need it, who it has to go to on a managed-building move, and what you can ask us to do with it.

This policy covers london-removal.co.uk and the removals service operated under the name London Removal. We are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect

  • Enquiry details — name, phone number, email address, pickup and drop-off addresses, preferred date and any notes sent through the quote form.
  • Survey information — notes, measurements, photographs of staircases or lifts that you send us, and an inventory of what is being moved.
  • Building details — the floor, lift dimensions, listing status, and the identity of any freeholder or managing agent.
  • Website analytics — anonymous usage data via Google Analytics.

Correspondence with managing agents

A large share of London moves require us to notify a freeholder, managing agent or concierge, book a service lift, and supply evidence of public liability cover. Doing that means telling a third party your name, your address within the building, and the date you are moving.

That is a real disclosure and we keep it to the minimum the building actually requires. We do not tell an agent what you own or what it is worth, and we do not use the contact we make with them for anything beyond your move.

Property information and why it matters

A survey creates a record of what is inside a specific address and when that address will be empty. We treat that as sensitive. Notes, photographs and inventories sit on access-controlled systems, are shared only with the crew assigned to your move, and are never passed to third parties for marketing.

Who else we share it with

Storage providers where you have booked storage; our insurers where a claim arises; our accountants for financial records. We do not sell your information. Where another firm in this network is better placed to serve your address, we tell you — we do not pass your details to them.

Why we hold it

  • To prepare a quote, at your request, before any contract exists.
  • To perform a move you have booked.
  • To obtain building access permissions on your behalf.
  • To meet accounting and tax record-keeping requirements.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become bookings are deleted once they are of no further use. Job records, including inventories, are kept for the period required for insurance, claims and accounting, and then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where no continuing obligation requires us to keep it, or object to how we use it.

To make a request, email hello@london-removal.co.uk. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

Google Analytics cookies to measure usage, and reCAPTCHA on the quote form to prevent automated abuse. No advertising or tracking cookies.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page. Material changes affecting an active booking will be communicated to you directly.
